It doesn't seem a mac issue at all since many have had it.

Did you by chance took a pic I could use (I know there are many around the net but I rather ask for permission to use)

I didn't take a pic- sorry. I also reinstalled yesterday so I'm unable to send the files. 

My game is in English (always has been). 

And reinstalling worked for you ?

Yes reinstalling worked perfectly, it all has the correct text now. 

Removing the strings file and repairing doesn't make a new version of it. The game won't start at all without it.  I'm using the English language version.  I did notice that my game generates exception files since the patch when I load a save now.

It should fix this issue, yes.

You can use method 1 or 2 though.

Is there anything else I can do to fix this? I really want to avoid downloading it again. My internet is so bad it took 2 days to install a recent expansion pack. that was 1 game not the base game and 2 expansion I have with it.

If you try method one it should download everything (method 2 shouldn't either)

What language is your game in though ?

I'm really not happy with the lack of help for the game. I have had to resort to uninstalling and reinstalling everything. Firstly I'm losing everything since I cant backup as the exe files you said to back up don't exist in my game. There is absolutely no exe files just TS4 and TS4 X64 with no exe at the end. Also downloading all the games is going to take me a week because you cant just uninstall the base and leave the rest.

After an hour my 1st download of 3 is at 3%!!! EA You better fix things and make things better.

Those would be the files. In windows you have the option to hide known extensions and as windows consideres exe to be a known extension it hides it.

so ts4 = ts4.exe and ts4_x64 = ts4_x64.exe

Did the language variant also not work for you ? That doesn't need to redownload the whole game either.

Nothing did so I had to re-download and that did fix it. However we shouldn't be forced to resort to that when they update the game. Although I do like some of their games EA continue to pissss me off with their constant errors, glitches and their stupid ways of fixing issues they should've dealt with.
