Yeah, I think that what @fnfkdkdkdndjxxlc is trying to say that as it works now, the relationship between two Sims is equal, expressed as a single number for both parties. As an example:
Let's say Mortimer has 50% friendship and 50% romance with Bella, so that means that by definition Bella has 50% friendship and 50% romance with Mortimer.
I think @fnfkdkdkdndjxxlc is saying that they'd like it to be possible for, say, Mortimer to have 50% friendship and 75% romance with Bella, while Bella has 60% friendship and 45% romance with Mortimer. In other words, for it to be possible for your Sim to be way more into someone than the other Sim is into them.
This could be cute for teens, IMHO. You could have Cassandra have, say, 25% friendship and 75% romance for Malcolm, while Malcolm has 20% friendship and 10% romance for Cassandra.
(That said, I do understand that you'd have to completely redo how relationships work. Yikes.)
