@PipMenace  Did you save your progress between the time your sims married (and got gold on the event) and when they moved?  If you did, you might be able to get back to that point by recovering one of the game's automatic backup saves.  Here's how:

If you don't have a backup from the right time, but you do have an earlier one (from before the marriage), you could always save the house to the in-game library and place it in the current save.  Then you could move your sims to it, increasing the family funds via cheat if necessary, and see whether the move works out this time.  Or you could figure out what they're owed and just cheat the money directly.

Since this has already gone wrong once, it's a good idea to save before any moves from now on.  In fact, it's a good idea anyway; you can never be too careful.
