@Jes2G You make a compelling point. However, there was a patch today that is supposed to have fixed some genetics issues with skin tones. So it would be interesting to see whether anything changed.

Yes, I patched! It helped make some of the kids more mixed which I totally appreciated. The last 3 kids were born before todays patch, and you see they're all super light. The first 3 toddlers were born today after I patched. The patch didn't help the last batch of kids, however, because there are just too many swatches that don't belong between the parents. There shouldn't be light swatches in between medium and dark.
@Jes2G Yeah, I'm not disagreeing with your point. I was just wondering whether the patch helped or not. I have no idea how the genetics system works at the game code level, so maybe there was some rearranging. Or not. I do know that the devs have acknowledged that this is an issue, so hopefully they'll keep tweaking the system as needed.
