Re: [NOT BUG] Sims complain about smelly stuff although nothing is dirty

I just started having this problem since the GT patch. I have three Sims in the household - all with totally different personalities that consistently get a moodlet about dirty plumbing. I've checked everything. I even used the cheat to make clean and nothing was dirty.

I've never seen this before, so I thought I should report it. So far I've only had it happen with this household. And it appears at random times. Sometimes the moodlet just goes away on its own and it's not tied to one specific area. The house has two bathrooms. And an open kitchen. Sometimes it happens near the kitchen. Other times coming out of either bathroom.

And once it even happened just outside the house! The moodlet specifically refers to dirty plumbing. It's one of my two households in Newcrest. Not sure if that matters.

Do you also have it if you go to a community place ?

Not yet. But I've bulldozed a lot of the community lots in this save to rebuild my own. I started this save right before the patch came out. Maybe two or three days before. And I was playing in the house I mentioned pre-patch and never saw this before.

I can confirm it happened again on a different household last night after I posted my report. This time in Oasis Springs on the Vista Quarry lot. Again checked everything. Even tried deleting each plumbing item and replacing it. Still get the random moodlet. And it will go away on its own sometimes after a few minutes. Very strange.

None of the Sims involved have the "Neat" trait.

Willing to share your save game ?

If so, please zip up this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves, upload to mediafire or dropbox and PM me the link.

    Sure Crin.

Edit to add: I have a lot of CC and I run MC Command Center. So not sure how that will affect you with those things not installed.

Have to upload to Box. Mediafire won't let me create an account for some reason. Says I keep failing a captcha that doesn't show on the screen.

    Crin -

Things I noticed from playing tonight:

    1. This lot in the save was in Willow Creek and I moved it to Newcrest. Their outdoor trash can was deleted during the move. I have no idea why. Is this normal? The lots are both the same size.

    2. There was a pile of scrap on their back porch. I was tired and didn't see it when I quit last time. It was from when the shower above broke right before I quit playing last time. I had one of my Sims fix the shower, but I didn't realize the scrap ended up on the back porch. This would account for a "Filthy Surroundings" moodlet possibly. Not sure. But definitely not dirty plumbing.

    3. I'm still getting the "Dirty Plumbing" moodlet on this lot in Newcrest. Again I tried the cheat to make things clean. All plumbing was already clean. I even sold and bought again all the plumbing items. No difference.

    4. And I had the "Dirty Plumbing" moodlet pop up while my Sim Emily was gardening.

Sorry I didn't think to take a screenshot. I'm just so annoyed by this that I was too preoccupied with my frustration over this and the ridiculous dropping out of the queue and routing problems to grab a photo.

I have a screenshot of the Dirty Plumbing moodlet happening while my Sim Lila was working out in the Willow Creek gym. It's happened twice there in that same area. And it's happening in every house I have so far.

I put all the bulldozed community lots I had gotten rid of back just to test for this bug and the flickering, that's why they are in the save I gave you. The flickering is terrible in the Willow Creek gym and Museum. Much worse than in any of my Sim's houses. I hope they fix this soon and this dirty plumbing thing. It's driving me nuts.

The flickering also does not go away for me when switching out lights or going back to 32 bit. It's actually worse on 32 bit. Anyway. Got a bit off topic.

So here's a screenshot of the moodlet I uploaded to Photobucket: http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag403/akparkison/Sims%204%20Troubleshooting/dirty_plumbing_gym_wcreek_zps7cq7mxm4.png

The big white arrow is to highlight the moodlet. Probably overkill. But I had to use the regular screenshot capture and this photo is really dark. I use ReShade in my game and it's a lot easier to see with it enabled, but I can't capture the UI with it.

Sorry for the ramble. I'm tired and frustrated. Thanks for all your help!

The flickering has it's own thread and is being looked into.

As for the moodlet. Didn't get a chance to look at it yet. Hopefully today.

Thanks for looking into it. I'll wait and see what happens with the next patch. I'm done bug reporting.

I fixed it. Another modder caught it before I did. The culprit was "No Dishes in Bathroom Sinks" by Plasticbox. Somehow I screwed up and put this set of files in my buy subfolder. I'm not sure why.

I did the 50/50 and found it. Still wasn't sure this was exactly it since I needed to play more to verify I was right, but a modder reported my exact bug on the thread at MTS.

The mod has since been updated. I can't speak to the OP - but, I went ahead and left the mod out, because I don't want to deal with this again possibly. So my problem is fixed. I've played two Sim weeks and haven't seen it again.

I hope you understand where I'm coming from then with not taking reports from modded games 😉

    Glad you got it fixed.
