I am unhappy about recent in game changes, they have made the game very unenjoyable for me. They may very well be working as intended but for me they have broken the game. I'll just mention 3.
One has been mentioned by several and that's the 'Fear of ...' traits. They seem poorly realized at best, the most obvious example in my experience is getting Fear of Dead-End Job after being promoted. Yes, they can be removed in game by talking about differences, or renew dedication, or any of the cheats that let you remove traits but it's just another fingernail on the chalkboard.
I don't like the micromanagement of the door. This is just BS. My sim has to knock on a door and be asked in. If I have a roommate, lock doors for everyone but household does not include my roommate; if the door is locked for everyone but roommate and my sim is involved practicing yoga and it's time for a rabbit hole job, not only do I have to click out of the activity, I have to unlock the door while they wave their hand with alphabet soup over their head. NPC sims come into my workplace, into my dates to ask to be boyfriend or best friend. If I've raised romance and friendship but are still just friends and go to the house of a third sim, they come walking in and undo any progress. All residence doors should be sacrosanct: knock before entering.
The most upsetting to me is the increased incivility in game. I have seen Bella Goth in the background insulting another sim, waving her finger, gesturing in anger. My sim makes a friendly introduction and while I'm following that up clicking through the wheel to find get to know, have them insult this sim they've just met. "Hello nice to me you. Oh, by the way, your mother is the illegitimate offspring of a llama and an alien." This change is particularly irritating to me; I have raised a sim from birth through toddler, childhood, teen, university with a job as an actor, then the career they went to school for, marriage, the raising of children, to a peaceful end and had like 30% of level one in mischief. I DO NOT LIKE this change. I find myself entering the game and leaving in a few moments. It really has made the game close to unplayable for me.
Thank you for a place to vent my frustrations. I will probably check into the game a couple of times, but I feel I've come to the end of the game.
