Retail stores aren’t working for sales

I opened a retail store with my sims household and i cannot make sales. When it is time for the customer to check out, the customer will eventually timeout before the sale is complete and leave the store. 
Also, employees are not showing up to work and the ones that do show up gets paid $0 for a day of work. Idk how long this glitch has been going on because i just opened the retail store today but I’ve restarted the game etc and it still performs the same. I’m a console player so i do not play with mods.
