San Myshuno Map White Across all Saves

Hi! My game shows only a white screen instead of the map after clicking on San Myshuno. Both from manage worlds and when sims are travelling. This is across all saves-even newly created ones. I have tried removing all mods, repairing the game, clearing my cache etc. I have absolutely no idea how to fix this and it is driving me bonkers- any suggestions would be much appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

  • @ninja555ninja if it's all saves it's usually tool but since San Myshuno is an older world (before TOOL), that's most likely not the case for you.

Do you own for rent ? On the new save, is it happening from the get go or can you enter it at first and then it stops working ?

@ninja555ninja I am having the exact same problem. I started a new save after 10 generations because the old one was just getting slow and have been playing on it for about a week or two now. I stayed up till about 2-3 this morning then went to bed and when I got back on today about 10-11 it was giving me the white scream on every save, even new ones. I had not downloaded any new mods recently besides updating MC Command Center, MC WooHoo, and Better build buy. I have removed all mods repaired the game and it still continues to give the same white screen.

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Repair the game
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. Be aware that your claimed event rewards will also be gone for the time being but you will get them back with your other things.
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

    Factory Reset After

You can now start to copy back things from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old to the new Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder that was created.

First only copy (I suggest to copy so you can go back in case anything goes wrong along the way) the content of the folder Saves (these are your save games). If you are prompted if want to overwrite a save, decide if you want to keep that testing save you just made or not. If not, just overwrite if, if you want to keep it, rename the save to a different number that isn't taken.

Test just your save game with nothing else added back. If that works, you can start copying back the rest. If not, check back.

You will need the following folders

    - Tray (your households and lots you have saved to library)

    - accountDataDB.package (your event rewards)
    - Custom Music (if you added any)
    - Screenshots (if you've taken any)
    - Videos (if you've taken any)
    - ConfigOverride (if you made any although I recommend redoing those)
    - Options(.ini) (although I recommend to just redo your settings in the game)

Now test again. If that still works, you can put back your mods. Put them back in groups and make sure they are still compatible with the game.

All other files are recreated and not needed.

If you still don't have your rewards back after doing this, also move back usersetting.ini
