save regression

i am in the habit of constantly saving my game. every time i load onto a lot i’ll save. when ever my sims are sleeping i will save and maybe once again when they wake up. my problem is that i’ll save and then do a separate save and quit and my game will STILL not be current when i load back into the save file. it will be one of the previous times i saved. 

specific example i have an actress sim who went to bed before a gig and i saved. i saved the next morning when i went to perform the gig and after once i got home. i saved once more after having family and friends over with my sim right before they went to bed i had them working on piano skill and the game crashed. once i reloaded the game the save was sent back to before she did the gig and was sleeping. this is ridiculous is it not?
