I was trying to play base game Scenarios but they're not working after the updates
First bug: Unlucky chef
My sim doesn't cause any fire when cooking after the update. There's no difficulty level in this
Second bug: Aliens stole my parents
I was starting the Aliens stole my parents scenario and for the child, the Aspiration menu wasn't even popping up in CAS, so I couldn't start playing the scenario
EA please fix this!! I tried with/without Mods and it's still not working
I tested the setup for Aliens Stole My Parents and didn't have any trouble selecting aspirations for the Child or any of the other Sims.
I did notice that Aliens Stole My Parents allows you to use an existing household, so that might make a good alternative if you just want to try the scenario. The scenario requires a household with exactly 1 Teen, 1 Child, and 1 to 5 Young Adults, Adults, or Elders. Some of the households that meet those requirements, at least in a new save, are Goth (base game), Munch and Bjergsen (Get Together).

For your second issue, I thought there was a bug report too but I can't currently find it.
Did you delete the localthumbcache after removing your mods/cc ?
