Sims 4 after 2024/08/08 update game is so slow lagging

Hi! After new update Sims game is so unplayable. With every Sims interaction, it took so long. They don't respond to socialize interactions, and it took so long to do anything. Cupid corner loads forever, and I can't see people from the gallery in the Cupid app (in settings is all good, enable gallery sims). Also, I can't press the heart icon in the gallery, the game crashes.

I'm wondering if you've had any similar experiences?

Which exact model Mac do you have? Apple > About This Mac.

Is your game still slow with a clean new Sims 4 folder? Rename your current Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts then launch the game, it will be like new with none of your user data loaded. Play a brand new save for a while and see how it performs.

@Bluebellflora Apple macbook air. If I understood correctly, I need to play again with other sims, with new game play? Because I want to save my old game play.

All the information please. Click on the Apple in the top left corner then About This Mac.

Yes, I would like you to test a completely clean game, free of all your current saves and other user data. You’re not losing your current saves by renaming the Sims 4 folder.

@Emma_Rose127  Please test with no mods or custom content, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package.  You don't need to save your progress.

If your main save is still lagging, please test a new one, still with no mods or cc.  If the new one lags too, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

The idea here is to define the scope of the issue, then troubleshoot from there.
