Sims 4 Crashing??

Good morning, I have been trying to play my sims 4 and have never had this issue before. Sometimes the game doesn't load in at all, sometimes it won't go into a lot and every time it crashes. I have ...

Hi, I registered on this forum just to say that I have exactly the same problem. Just 10 hours ago I was playing the Sims just fine. I had a 30GB mods folder, ultra graphics settings and a heavy reshade. And my laptop ALWAYS handled it just fine.

But when I launched the game again a few hours ago, it INSTANTLY crashed on families of 8 people (a bunch of character traits and a cluttered lot). And it crashes after 3 minutes of playing on an empty lot with 1 character. I thought I had problems with the save, but...

I took out the mods, saves and tray folders, cleared the cache. Completely deleted the Sims 4 folder. Reinstalled the game again. Updated NVIDIA and NOTHING. The cleanest new game also crashes after a few minutes of playing on a simple lot with 1 character. Especially quickly when I switch to the build mode. Once it crushed in CAS even.

    I fixed my game. Here's the thing. The Wicked mod apparently assigned traits or settings to some of my characters, and the outdated version of the mod broke from the update. BUT with the mod removed, the game tried to access these traits/settings and crashed. This also crashed in a new game with a new character, apparently simply because I added this family to the gallery/second save (I tried different ways).

    Anyway, updating the game to the latest version + updating Wicked mod to the same version helped me.

    What confused me most about this whole situation was that even without the mod, the game still broke essentially because of it. This was something that was hard for me to figure out, so after removing the mods I immediately decided that it wasn't about them.

    I don't quite understand how it worked with my tests. Maybe the test with a completely clean The Sims 4 folder worked after all, and I didn't take that into account, added the save file to the folder and thought that everything was fine if I didn't go into that save.

      I wanted to say thank you. I had my post up five hours after this one was posted about a strange, unstoppable crash I could not find the life of me to solve.

      Wicked indeed has trait issues, including relationship bits and rewards. I would never expect it to be this way.
