sims 4 elders lost autonomy

Been playing with a few families on the sims 4 and noticed that my two elders their needs stopped decaying and they would just stay standing in the same spot for hours on end unless told to otherwise of they have work. My other sims don't have this issue.

@4eva96, Have you tired to have one of your Sims travel to a different lot and take the Elders with them, and then return home?  If you have and the problem still persists, do other elder Sims in other households have this problem too?  What about elders in a different Save Game file?  Are you playing on a console or on PC/Mac?  If you are playing on a PC/Mac, then do you happen to play with Mods or Custom Content (CC)? 🤔

If you tried traveling with your elders and returning home, and if this happens to other Elders in a different household, and if it still happens in another Save, and you use Mods or CC, and you still have the same problem , please do the following:

    1) Move the Mods Folder to your desktop

    2) Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder.

    3) Fix you game in Origin by logging in and go to Library, then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the "Repair Game" option from the list.  Wait until Origin finishes repairing all your packs and not just the base game.

    4) Now, when you turn on your game again, it will create a new mods folder that will be empty.  Check to see if your game is now working without mods/CC.

    5) Now you can try adding back items from your Mods folder one at a time checking your game each time to see which item is causing your game to not work properly.  If you have a lot of items, you can try the 50/50 Method.

The CC creators will usually update the CC items and Mods after these updates, so when you find out which one is the culprit, you can get the updated version from whoever made that item of CC in the first place.  You should try these steps anytime you have problems in your game to rule out CC/Mods problems.  It is the responsibility of the Mods/CC creators to update their items anytime EA releases a patch/update, and it is the responsibility of the people who use Mods/CC to make sure they are using the most recent version.

If you still have the problem after trying everything that was suggested, then you might have another problem, but it is best to do these tests to rule out certain things. 😉

Please update us on your situation! 😇

Elders in other households don't appear to be affected by this issue just the elders in the one household, elders in other save files aren't affected either. Killing the elder then reviving them restored autonomy temporarily but the next time I visited the household the lack of autonomy and no needs decay had returned. I do play on a PC with mods/custom content so will try removing them and repair the game and see if that works.

@4eva96, thank you for explaining your situation further! 😇 I'm thinking that your problems are either caused by Mods/CC being outdated, or else you have a glitch in either just that house, or in just those Sims.🤔  Please update us after you try to test your Mods! 🙂
