No, that is not possible.
You don’t have to play as the owner though. You can build a residential rental and move in as a tenant.
thanks but I wasnt wanting to deal wiith the death from mold and breaking and entering lol. It looks like a fun pack Im getting it when it comes out soon and I probably will have a sim play as a property owner haha bring on the death by mold and breaking and entering >evil laugh<

@MoonieChild , the Death by Mold (and mold problems in general) will only be possible if you have that lot challenge enacted. You can switch this on or off in the Build Buy Mode in the top left corner with the other lot info, such as lot traits and other lot challenges are located! 😊
From watching Sims Livestream on Twitch the other day, as well as some of the Creator's Network players on YouTube, it looks like nobody will be breaking into your home, but instead only the Sim you are controlling can break into other Sims' homes! Yes, you can build the apartment in Newcrest.
Your apartment cannot be like those in San Myshunu but you can build one apartment and be the owner of it or just be a tenant of a random game-generated landlord.
