I play using my TV as a computer screen, nothing shrinks there 😉
But I think it rather has to do with your resolution than the size of your screen. What resolution and size do you have on your game/screen right now?
I have it on the highest resolution it can go, 1,366 x (I can't remember) ☹️

Well, if you are gonna buy a laptop, I would recommend 17, if it's not a home-laptop (you aren't gonna bring it outside the house that much), then I might go for a 19-inch.
If you have a stationary computer, I think 19 is enough to make sure the icons doesn't shrink (17 might be but not as sure, but a lot of people play on laptop so it might be fine).For your own gaming-experience though I would recommend 21 or 24 for a stationary computer.
But then also make sure that the screen allows the game to run in even higher resolution, something like 1920x1080. 🙂
