Sims 4 not loading

I just migrated to the EA app from Origin an hour or so ago, and I've been trying to launch the Sims 4, but I can't. The game tries to open (bounces in the dock and I get the loading colour wheel), but it's never able to. I've tried clearing the cache (app recovery) and restarting my MacBook. I've also tried to repair the game, but it just gets stuck on "preparing" and then I get a message saying there was an error and my game couldn't be repaired (it then tells me to recover the app, which I've done several times, but nothing works). I'm not sure what else to do here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I've also tried uninstalling the EA app and then reinstalling it (by reinstalling Origin), and that also hasn't helped.

OK, I fixed the issue! I followed the instructions in the following link to clear my cache: https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/help/cache.php

If you're having a similar issue and haven't found a fix, try this out!

Edit - moved from EA App Mac forum to Sims 4 Game Issues, edited title to better reflect issue (Bluebellflora)
