Sims 4 texture and update problems

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Unknown (Latest prior to recent update?)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Parenthood ??
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Check sims clothing
What happens when the bug occurs? Clothing makes sim have red and white template texture
What do you expect to see? proper sim textures
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I had to refresh my drive for space, and then I reinstalled Sims 4

So, I don't know what to do. I originally bought sims 4 when it first came out on CD and originally had origin. At the same time as your latest update, I had to refresh my F drive for more space and re-installed all my sims 4 packs. I was playing my game ok until I noticed a sim with weird textures on him. I did a quick CAS edit on him and found the parenthood pack men's pants were causing strange texture issues. Not sure what was going on, I restarted and found another sim with missing textures. Also I have no idea how to update my game, as I have EA and Steam bought packs. Please help.

  • Hi @Toztabud

Have any of you tried a game repair yet ?

    For EA app

    1. Close the game
    2. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the game in your library
    3. Choose Repair game

    For Steam:

    1. Close the game
    2. Right Click on the game in your library
    3. Choose Properties
    4. Choose tab Installed Files
    5. Press Verify Integrity of Game Files

EA app seems to be having some troubles (AUSTRALIA). Can you help?

Also, no option to repair in EA app.

I'm now having trouble connecting to the server.

I've repaired the EA app and now it's reinstalling sims 4, so hopefully this will fix it.

I keep getting errors in the app saying there's a problem with my account (10000) and that the server keeps failing to do its thing. I live in Australia. Are there problems with the server?

Also, it would not let me install Spa Day.

Reinstalled. Still have wrong textures! Also, there is no repair option in the EA app where Parenthood was installed.

If you're playing on Steam, you have to repair the game on Steam, just as Crinrict said:

    1. Close the game
    2. Right Click on the game in your library
    3. Choose Properties
    4. Choose tab Installed Files
    5. Press Verify Integrity of Game Files

I tried repairing on steam, but it's still got the bug. I only installed some packs through steam and Parenthood wasn't one of them.

It also keeps saying there is an error with my account.

This all started when I recently installed the new pool build kit.

I did, but EA took it down: I've also got it for Parenthood men's tops now as well. I don't get the error all the time, but sometimes it says, "cannot connect to server". Other times I get "error 10000". I am using this computer for the sims.

@Toztabud The issue is a missing texture which usually points towards an incomplete installation.

Not sure what's going on with that error. Did you check the ea app forum for that ?

No. I don't know where that is. All I know is that I only started having this issue after the update, after I refreshed my drive and after I installed the new pool items kit. I feel like this should have been a simple fix, but it's not.

I have reinstalled the Sims 4 and packs multiple times and still the textures are missing.
