Sims can’t use barstools
Anytime I try to have my sims sit at the counter they can’t sit on the bar chairs. I’ve tried ea content and custome content and they can’t sit in either

Many CC dining chairs, barstools and desk chairs have been broken for awhile now and do exactly what you describe. Sims can't sit on them and they just wave their arms and show a routing fail thought bubble. Try using a barstool that came with the game. And you probably ought to remove any cc ones you have from your mods folder as well because it is possible that a broken CC chair will prevent the game chairs from working too depending on how it was made and what was used as a base. You can fix most of the broken ones with Sims 4 Studio if you have the latest version.
