Sims can flirt without being told?
This doesn't include free love nap areas. I have naps turned off
I have a rotational game play style. 15 households in my current load. I rotate through each one. Most of these households do know each other, are in clubs together, go out for festivals together etc.
When I return to my households I'm finding extra romantic relationships constantly. I was playing as one family and had a club gathering in which I saw another family flirt and the bitter sentiment flashed for her husband who then got angry (I wasn't in their rotation). I left the family I was playing to go fix the other couples bitterness and anger etc.
Sometimes I'm not aware they have a new love interest until they suddenly get flirty with another sim.
So I'm not sure why it says sims can't flirt unless you initiate it? It was an npc that flirted with the wife and her husband stormed off while I was playing as a completely different family. They were at the gym so there was no romance festival vibe or anything but my sims constantly have side relationships.
I'm not sure but it's there anything that can be done about this. I kinda get tired of asking to just be friends with random sims. It's still playable just annoying that they're starting side piece romances
Sadly, played(inactive) sims can flirt and will sometimes flirt. Most the time is a sim with romantic trait.
If you want to use mods: ModsTheSims have a mod named stop random flirting + no random NPC Romance + No Autonomous Rude/Flirty/Enchanting. I use it in my modded game and never encountered again a new love relationship. (MCC have also settings to stop random flirting but I don’t use MCC)
My vanilla game suffers from same problem, but it helps not to use the romantic trait or use the unflirty trait. Ah and do not skill charisma, sims can use enchanting introduction with her autonomy. (I think the half from my love interest are from this introduction in vanilla)
