sims won’t cook or wash dishes

@spritelst Do you have mods or CC in your Mods folder? If so, do a "vanilla" test to see if a mod/CC is your problem: First delete any food you cooked using cooking mods. Then move (not copy) the Mods folder to the desktop (or rename it), delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving. Note that a lot of sink-use mods are obsolete because of the change to reassign sinks.

I tried to do a mods test last time I had an issue and I couldn’t just “move” my mods folder, it only gave me the option to copy it. Do I need to individually take out my mods and do it that way? I have a couple bits of cc in this house like the hanging plants in the picture but no food related mods, they’re trying to cook a base game mac and cheese in the picture. 

Ended up moving my mods to my desktop individually, I don’t have too many mods so it wasn’t too complicated, i’ve loaded in and they’re all bald and still refusing to cook. 

@spritelst Don't save while they're bald if you don't want to put CC all back.

Do cooking and dishes both work in a new save? In a different house in that save?

I figured it out after using the debug “make dirty” cheat on the countertops and placing the dirty ones on every wall so that they could try and clean them one by one to tell me which ones wouldn’t work. Ended up realizing that two of the four walls in that kitchen won’t function if I put a countertop there. I ended up changing up the floor plan and widening the kitchen (which looks worse now but oh well at least it’s functional) and placing the countertops on the opposite wall and it worked no problem. No clue why nothing will work against that wall specifically. Like I said i’ve built a bunch of tiny houses and have never had this issue before, what could have caused it?

Since moving my sim into his new apartment, he has struggled to cook anything that isn't strictly on the stovetop. As soon as the food is placed on a countertop he waves his hand and the "something is blocking this" bubble pops up. When I try moving the food to a different countertop, he says the counter is in the way, the oven, the fridge, or just the generic blue with a red X bubble. I've deleted and redone the entire kitchen three times. He has plenty of counter space and there's nothing in his way. I tried reloading the lot, updating my game, using a different sim - still bugged. Is anyone else having this or similar issues?

My sim is unable to use a countertop to cook. They will start but then not be able to complete it and say that can't finish it. It was on countertops I have previously used fine until today. I have tried deleting windows and wall decor, still no solution. When I placed counter tops by themselves with no walls, then they could use it.

Could you post a picture of your kitchen ?
