Snapping to a sim's location PS4 controls

Hello! I'm playing The Sims 4 on PS4 and I have a household of 3 sims. In the controls it says that left and right trigger are used to "snap to sim to the left/right." When one sim is in separate location, however, and I want to snap to a sim who is, say, back at home or something, it only brings up their lower left icon, it doesn't bring me to that sim. I remember on the Sims 3 it was possible to quickly and easily move from sim to sim regardless of their location. Is that not possible on the Sims 4? It's really frustrating cause I can't get to my other sims without making the sim I'm currently being go all the way home or bringing the other sim to them. 

Please help!
