So how many sims makes the game break then?

I just found out that having a lot of sims causes the game to break, For Rent basically makes it easier to have residental sims. Cause I have a sneaking suspicion that's what happening with my game with 174/200 sims. Occasionally it just taps out and I have to go to the save before hand and everything works again (and I don't have for rent)

All over, it probably heavily depends on the system. On console it can probably happen earlier as you have a fixed allocation of space for each save.

What exactly are you seeing when the game goes bad ? A lot of them can def cause infinite loading (or seemingly) just because of the sheer amount but 200 isn't that many. The number you see is only the number of Sims you made safe though. So if you see 174/200, that's 174 in my households. You probably also have quite a few in other households as well as hidden ones.

The game has a culling limit of 800 Sims. After that, Sims are automatically removed from the game (you can override this on PC/Mac with mods) but  I wonder if that might be too much for console ?

    Really hard to tell.

Could be simply one broken Sim causing this.

Do you download Sims from the gallery at all ?

  • I've also accumulated a ton of played Sims so after I'm done with a household and ready to move on to the next one, I move them to the 'other households' bin and that keeps the numbers low.
