Spots

Having to make a decision between a new laptop or Enchanted by Nature, I chose the laptop. I just moved my game over to the new laptop and finally got it and my mods, saves and tray files moved. I was checking to make sure my sims had made the transition ok, in the "manage worlds"

mode, when I noticed one of the pre-mades looked different. I loaded up the lot and found that Alika Kahananui had white spots all over him. I have heard the new addition to the game was ailments, but I was sure that came with the new pack and was not part of the latest addition to the base game. Doing a search on the forum and Google gave me no answers. Is anyone else experiencing this?

  • The new ailments do just come with the new pack. If you play his household, does he have an ailment moodlet?
Try also moving the whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then test to see if the same thing remains without mods/cc there.

I removed the mods folder and the localthumbcache.package and restarted the game. Same thing.

His moodlet says "fine". I could find nothing to tell that he is sick in the messages or the on the UI panel. I am puzzled as to why he has spots. Am tempted to play the household and see what happens. But it isn't a household I do play, so I didn't save and backed out of the game. I think I will make a copy of this save to try to play with so I don't mess up the main household I am playing. I just began a 100 baby challenge and with all of the bugs the last month it's REALLY been a challenge, lol. 😁

Just don't want any rouge "illnesses" running around my game. I had the hardest time getting my sim pregnant with the first and only baby of this challenge. If I think I am going to play it the 100 baby mark, I can't afford an illness I know nothing about in the game. I at least need to figure out what to do to cure it in case my main household catches it.

Those spots look like one of the patterns sims can get when pranked while sunbathing. However, I don’t think I’ve seen unplayed sims do this in case one of your sims wasn’t the prankster 🤷🏻‍♀️🙂

  • The only other sims on the lot is his wife, who doesn't seem to have any of the pranking traits, so I am puzzled. As far as I know, it will not interfere with game play. But if it is an illness, will it kill the sims? The life and death thing, to tell the truth, drives me nuts. It is one thing I wish I could turn off, as I will leave my game playing to take care of my son or something household related IRL, come back and find the death notice occasionally. If it is a household I am REALLY into at the moment, of course you lose what progress the game made. I like coming back to the game after an hour of it alone to see how things have gone. But they are near water and do not have that swimming skill, 😬 well sims just can't resist a swimming pool!  But I digress. An unknown killing illness will ruin that for me. If it doesn't kill them, then I am all in! But the last couple of additions to the game (L&D, Enchanted) have added things I am not playing with yet and am not sure of the dangers of the packs to my sims.

  • Update: I played the household for a day, everything seemed to be as normal as any other household, except for the spots. No one was sick in any way, shape or form that I could see.

So I went to play another household. A couple of sim days later, Alika Kahananui shows up on a public lot and look, NO SPOTS... Where did they go? 🤣

Must not be an illness that affects game play, if it WAS an illness.
