Stair drop wall still disappearing in "walls cutaway view" mode

This new fix ("Stair drop wall will no longer disappear when in ‘walls cutaway view’ mode") is not working consistently in my game. When I place stairs outside, the stair walls stay up in cutaway mode. When I place stairs inside, the stair walls stay down in cutaway mode. Is this intentional? I was so ready for stair walls in my builds. (Playing without mods/CC and have tested on multiple lots)
