stop adopted sims from being attracted to their relatives??!

Hi, I have run into this issue where whenever I play as a sim who was adopted, once they age up into a Young Adult they now have Romance interactions with their extended family (so any cousins, aunts, and uncles). It seems like since my sim is adopted, the game cannot tell that the sister of my sim's grandfather is her aunt. I was able to avoid it being an issue (by just ignoring the Romance conversation options) until the Lovestruck expansion and update came out. Now I have relatives outside my sim's household developing one-sided crushes on my sim, and my sim is gaining Attraction status with extended relatives. Plus, sometimes if I'm not paying attention, my sim will try to perform autonomous Romantic interactions on their relatives. Obviously I DO NOT want this. I tried to mark a custom relationship label for my sim's aunt but that did nothing. Is there any way to fix/avoid this happening to adopted sims?
