For your first issue, try having your sim travel to a different world map and then returning home. For the second issue, check the neighborhood stories setting in mange worlds and in other households. If you have have babies or adopt children active, yhat is why there are so many.
Thank You for advice, I turned off neighborhood stories and this for sure will work, the first one though - i did travel to different world map and unfortunately it did not fix issue with plants for me although its summer season :/
