@marianlarsen Thanks for sharing! I realize different cultures treat weekdays and even months differently, so believe me when I say I mean no disrespect. I don't work for EA but I'm curious though and wondered if you could provide an example of how starting the week on Sunday impacts the holidays you want to add. I think it could be helpful in understanding the direct impact.
- marianlarsen3 years agoNew Ace@JonaO703 Some holidays I like to plan at the end of the week, and for me personally that is Sunday. But Sunday in-game is the start of the week, so I end up placing the holiday on Saturday, which doesn’t feel like the end of the week to me.
Midsummer is one holiday I have planned for my sims. In my country, Midsummer is always on June 24th, but for my sims I plan it at the middle-point of the summer season. Having seasons set to 14 days, the middle-point is the end of the first week. Ideally, I would like to have this holiday on a Sunday, since that feels more like the end of the week.
It doesn’t really have any impact on gameplay, and it’s not a big deal, but it would be more accurate. I am still struggling getting used to the in-game week starting on Sunday, when in my day to day life the week starts on Monday.- JonaO7033 years agoHero
@marianlarsen Thanks for that! It is a big deal since it impacts your gameplay and probably that of other players. I definitely don't want to minimize your feelings about how you or others would prefer to play the game. It seems like it shouldn't be that difficult to add an option to the calendar to set any day as the start of the week and I do hope the developers take this into consideration.
