System error when placing lot

Hi, when I tried to place a lot from my library that I have built before, I encountered a red sign saying "system error", and then the lot turns to plain ground. It's a 64*64 house without cc, but I did use a lot of T.O.O.L mod in there. I have viewed many old posts from the forums and tried all solutions mentioned in those posts, but none of them work. I have no clue why this is happening.

My guess is that I have placed way too many objects in this build, or it is probably because there is a mailbox popped out in the backyard (which can not be removed manually) for I don't know why reason.

Please help!
Thank you!

Hey, thank you so much for your reply! I figured it out by myself later! I think it's because I placed too many objects in one lot. I deleted serval pieces of furniture and now it worked:D

  • @Gw3n10151 Some mod is causing the error, move the mods folder to your desktop. Delete the localthumbcache. Repair the game. Start the game. Load the last save in which you place your building, a warning may appear when placing it. If this helped you, look for the mod causing the problem.

@Aledreon I'm also having a system error when trying to place my own lot off my own library. I've never used mods. Ever. The lot is 152kb on a 30x20 lot. I don't know how to delete the look oval thumb cache is this only a solution for kids related problems? If not, how would I do it?
  • I found something and thought I'd share in case it helps others.

I had this same issue: a message saying "System Error" when trying to place a lot I built myself, I was only moving it to another save file.

In my case, what solved the issue was I noticed I had some in-game photos taken with the in-game cameras (the playable cameras, used by sims) hung in the walls, and some of them had turned black after one of the patches.

These darkened (completely black) pictures were the ones causing the issue. I only had to delete them and save the build again, and then I could place it with no issue at all.

Your comment was helpful for me as well, because this item was causing the same blacked out portrait issue after a patch download this week.  Thank you for your time!
