Hmm... I took a closer look to the pictures and I see that your sim live in a residential lot, not residential rental lot. And the relationship icon isn't the property owner icon, but the City Living landlord icon.
That is interesting...
The only thing I can suggest here is repairing the game. In EA App, open The Sims 4 game page, click on Manage, and there's an option to repair. On Steam, open the game page, click on Manage cog wheel, choose Properties... (the bottom option), then in the menu open Installed Files and in there is Verify integrity of game files. No idea on what to do on Epic though...
