The Sims 4 & Steam I need my 20 years of progress back

Okay I am a avid The Sims 4 player,I've been playing since 2001. Long story short, my son was interested in playing on my PC. He install steam and had the sims there, I disabled my mods, and he commence to build. The next day I sat to play my game and when I went into the sims through EA my family and builds are gone. Only the character he created is there. Is there a way to get my game as it was back. I had so many time consuming builds that took me forever to create and I had my family for generations. I am absolutely distraught, that's my "away from the world" coping mechanism. Someone please tell me this is recoverable.

Oh all my things are saved it's just that my towns are blank. I don't want to go through the task of assigning everyone and everything back to the way I had it.

But when you check the saves and find older saves there, then you can use one of those to pick back up your play.  You might lose a little play depending on when you last played it though.  Better than nothing.

Now one other thing it could be though is what computer account you used for your son on your computer.  My comments above are all based on the both of you using the same computer account rather than separate ones.  But if your son was on a separate account, the game's save files should be in a separate My Documents folder under his username.  Same for you.  So, the question is:  was your son on your account or his own and did you sign in the last time on his account?

    Hope this helps.
