I like your stratagy suggestions.
Swapping aspirations is something I use consistantly. Love racking up those satisfaction points!
Assigning an aspiration in CAS for the bonus trait is also a common practice. For instance using a knowledge aspiration for the quick learner or culinary for the essence of flavor bonus trait.
I like building up skills and funds during gameplay with the least bills. So I have a few "go to" lots or rooms with only the basics. That means only a fridge, one counter, a trash can and a potty bush. They go to the gym to shower and use skill building items on community lots til they can afford them on their own.
Taking photos with the phone has several advantages.
* Quick cash by selling them from inventory.
* Money plus fame (GF) if placed on a wall and posted to Simstagram or sold for cash and fame.
* Taking a photo "of" or "with" other Sims raises relationships levels for faster friends.
* Raises photography skills.
I had not explored the power of the "pile of presents" (Seasons) until recently. What a bonus that can be!
Holiday events (Seasons) are all modified to activities that most benefit my Sims.
Things like making resolutions (raise a skill) and music or exercise replace the usual activities.
Don't forget scouts (Seasons) for kids/teens. The Scouting Aptitude trait adds a major skill boost.
Jungle Adventures added to Archeology skill which at higher levels will add the option to be sent relics to be authenticated and return for a pretty chunk of change. No travel required.

@EuphorialQueen I've personally never been fond of photography, my cursor disappears way too frequently from the constant camera shifting (I guess) and I get easily annoyed at having to recover it. But if you're looking for fame points easily, it is a great tool.
I never buy my new families an actual house. I pick a lot and build 1 big room, then divvy out a bedroom with a double bed and a small bathroom with 2 toilets and 2 showers. I don't even get them a stove for a while, they cut themselves to ribbons just making salads. LOL I dislike traveling a lot because I wind up with such long load times. *le sigh*
Myself I'm pretty antisocial and my poor Sims reflect that, they often have no contacts outside of the family. >.> I'm not very good with the social graces. LOL I haven't even ever attempted any of the Social Aspirations, and all that contributes to my avoidance of community lots. I should try your techniques for that. 😉
I even get myself what I call a 'permananny', it usually triggers when I've hired a nanny a few times in succession and then send my parents on a vacation while the nanny is there. They wind up hanging around forever, they just never leave, and right now my current permananny doesn't even give me the option to 'dismiss' her or 'ask to leave', so I don't know how to get rid of them except to set them on fire. XD
Yes the Archaeology skill does pay well once it's maxed, very well considering authenticating isn't very time-consuming. Sometimes it takes them longer to eat a salad. :P
I haven't tried the Scouts with any of my kids, I'm usually a little overwhelmed because my Sims nearly always give birth to twins. So I tend to move them up and out to their own places a little quicker than some, though my toddlers are never aged up without full 5s across the board. My father seems to get abducted with frightening regularity despite not having done much of anything with the telescope or rocket in a long while, and yeah, he always has twins. *sigh* Permananny to the rescue! XD

@TygerNightAnother great starting location for getting tons of collectibles is any of the lots in Cavalier Cove in Brindleton Bay (Cats and Dogs EP). There are quite a few dig and frog spawners, fishing spots, etc., but also after a short time you'll see lots of those Mysterious Boxes left behind by all of stray animals in the area. Sometimes I can find 10+ Mysterious Boxes per day containing anything from pet toys to rare fossils, minerals, or elements. I also love the decorative bird prints you can place on your wall from finding the piles of feathers. I really enjoy visiting with all the stray cats and dogs, plus this location is as pretty as any other lot I have ever seen in Sims 4, especially in the fall and winter.
