I had the same thing happen while playing recently! I had 3 different sims (not from the household I was playing) burst into flames and die in the middle of the jungle. I think this was even before downloading Lovestruck for me. I also don't have mods installed. It definitely takes you out of the jungle explorer experience when you run into your sims neighbor in the depths of a pyramid.
