Tree of Emotions Help/Support

So, I've had two trees of emotions planted for a while now (both are up to perfect), and both only give me the type of berry that I planted. I did graft one to the other, to see if that helped or if that's what was needed, but now it's just listing as a "spliced plant", and sometimes gives me one, sometimes gives me the other, I don't know yet if I've seen it give both at once.

I searched on google to see if this had already been reported - it looks like it has been, but when I go to click on the link, it tells me I don't have access to that part of the site, I believe because it's archived? (Idk, it's this link: https://forums.ea.com/discussions/the-sims-4-bug-reports-archive-en/open-ja-tree-of-emotions-only-produces-one-type-of-berries/11309241)

Idk if the answer was that this wasn't a bug, that they're not going to worry about it, or what...so kind of looking for support in two ways:

  1. Am I doing something wrong? In the past (I don't remember how recently, though I thought it was working right earlier this calendar year) I haven't had an issue, so thinking it's due to a more recent update. But I also don't fully remember.
  2. If I'm not doing something wrong, is there a thread already out there about this that I can add to? Or does it need to be made anew?

I do use MCCC - it's the only mod I use, and I don't do anything having to do with gardening with it (idk if you can). I can take it out and test it again, but I don't recall it causing this issue previously.

  • In my experience, only the wild emotion trees will give a variety; ones I plant give me only what I planted. I do not know if this was ever meant to be different.

  • Hi kaseyanne5

I haven't been to the jungle in years but trees planted at home used to produce all the berry types.  It was a little quirky, though.  The berry planted would be the dominant berry on the tree producing 3-4 of that type of berry.  The dominant berry would be the only type that evolved in quality as well, with other types remaining normal.  If a cutting was taken and spliced onto a faster growing plant like sage, which grows in all seasons, only one berry type could be obtained from a spliced plant.

I couldn't access your link either, but it would seem to indicate a bug report was filed at some point in time.  If you have a memory of it working earlier this year, you can file a bug report as I don't see it currently listed as a bug in the compiled list of reports under JA.  Crinrict should be able to access the archived reports to see if it just wasn't ported over to the new forums, or if it was designated as fixed, or a design change.

I planted the cereberry and got it to perfect just last night. I'm actually happy that it produces only cereberries, though it does produce all the other berries about once a week, which is perfectly fine. Though, the only thing that bugs me is that the tree is still called Tree Of Emotions instead of Cereberry Tree.

This was changed a couple of years ago so you only get the specific type that you plant.
