Which expansion pack?
I’ve just seen that a lot of expansion packs are on sale for Halloween. i would like to buy one of them but I can’t decide 😱 what is your suggestion? And why? do you have any of the expansion on ...
What are you in to? I know you've mentioned about halloween, but that seems to be a timing thing... If you're interested in solving weird adventure-type puzzles then you'd be leaning more towards Stangeville than Get Famous, but you'd want to get City Living if you're really interested in designing new apartments. Also, how are you playing the Sims? If you're using it as a time filler then any pack will add more, but if you're using it as a way to tell a story then you're best seeing which pack adds to the story you're trying to tell...
Personally I would go for, in terms of gameplay only, one of the following is probably best: Cats and Dogs, Get Together, Get To Work and Seasons.
Why? Well, these packs enhance the game by offering something qualitatively different rather than just more of the same with a few add-ons around.
Cats and Dogs gives ability to have (although, limited to cats and dogs) pets - this was quite useful for me as a long-term game I have includes sims who own cats... The content style also fits in quite well with the other packs too.
Get Together you can create your own groups and have the groups do activities together (personally my favourite for the style of the characters, items, outfits and world)...
In Get To Work you can complete goals within a day of your chosen career (you get to play three new careers of doctor, police officer and scientist)
With Seasons you get to experience weather (blizzards, thunderstorms, benign if cold spring days with a bit of rain or an unseasonably burning hot day in the middle of autumn). You also get to play festival/celebration days (and, on these days, decorate your home lot) which adds an extra dimension too. The content style also fits in quite well with the other packs too.
The others add things, but Get Famous only really adds the quest for fame or positive reputations... City Living, a couple of careers and apartment living... You do get new clothes, in all cases and (though not Get To Work or Seasons) the ability to expand the number of neighbourhoods... Still, the sim world has been expanded with stuff and game packs. This isn't a criticism, per se, but just a thing to let you know/advise on which packs I would prioritise starting from your position...
