I know this doesn't alleviate your rant, which is definitely a valid one I whole heartedly agree with, but if you use CC I'm fairly certain I've seen a version of the flower crown separated from the hair floating around tumblr back when IL first came out. I don't have any links but if you dig through any of the CC blogs you'll probably be able to ind it.
