Adventure Awaits CAS And Build/Buy?

Hello!  I'm sure there's a really easy answer or post or what have you about this that I've just not seen yet.  That's often the case of this sort of thing! *LOL*

But could someone please direct me to where I can find a list (With pictures please!) of the CAS and Build/Buy stuff that comes unique to Adventure Awaits?  I'm really on the fence about whether to get this EP or not.  I honestly don't see myself doing much with the "adventures" part of it as far as making and/or sending sims to the different locations you can have them do and experience stuff at.  Though who knows, maybe I'd change my mind?  However, I'm VERY interested in the new pool stuff!  Don't like that it's behind a pay-wall though.  I mean they gave us pools for free in an update when they came out.  Why not give us at least ONE free diving board and slide as well?  Geez...

ANYWAYS, I AM also VERY interested in the Imaginary Friend dolls!  I saw a post where someone had shared what they all look like after they're made into real sims.  Love it!  And their outfits too!

Soooo, I'm hoping if I'm able to see what the CAS and the Build/Buy stuff in this EP are all like, that will help me decide whether I really NEED this pack?  Or not?  I have some other EP's that I no longer have installed on my computer, because quite frankly I can no longer RUN said computer, with all the EPs, GPs, Stuff Packs and Kits that I have already!

Thank you in advance to anyone who might share links here or otherwise help direct me!😁

  • I was on the fence about this EP too, and I won't lie the CAS/Build/Buy did not sway me at all (but I did find a great female long braid hair I am in love with). I don't play families, kids, and really don't plan to use Getaways.

But I love the butterflies (swayed reason I got the pack), Entomology skill (has some cross pack perks Seasons Bee Box, ECO Insect Farms, and you can catch flying OR Insects with net and all gain the skill (regular catching and viewing OR insects do not though)).

Crystal Valley you can "Pan for Crystals" in ponds/water of the appropriate depth, get crystals and gain Gemology skill. Which has been a nice perk to the pack/world.

And Custom Venues have so much potential, but some some activities with objects have been reported to not be working (like Seance Tables,  Apothecary Tables, etc.), and some activities are also reported missing (like no Archeology Table activities).

So you could wait for fixes and/or for it to go on sale. Unless you really like the idea of Custom Venues, and playing with that in the mean time (it has been fun despite finding bugs).

HollownessDevour thank you for your reply!  I appreciate your feedback, especially about the Entomology skill.  Also about the bugs that have been reported!  You know, the OTHER kind of "bugs", too!  *Shakes head, we can't have anything without them of course! LOL*

  • The strong point of this pack is the amount of objects that come with functionality

    • modular playgrounds
    • Free standing playground slide
    • diving boards
    • Water slide
    • Weights for weight lifting
    • Spinning bike
    • Kayak
    • Archery
    • Papercraft

Usually EP have some cas or furniture that really stands out because it looks pretty or original. This pack however doesn't have any items that stand out because they look good. Of course that's personal taste and can be different for everyone. It has the obligatory bar, bed, picnic table,... for simmers who don't have many packs yet there are recurring items like a swing and firepit which are not in base. For cas it's mostly functional clothes, there is one hairstyle I really like. So good if you want some basic clothes for you sims' free time.

For the gameplay I don't think I will use getaways a lot. But custom venues open up possibilities. I am currently creating a spellcaster hangout, with the scheduled tasks I feel like I can finally create a counterpart for the ever dark magic realm. Custom venues open up a lot of possibilities if you want to create lots for specific purposes. It does need some tweaking or fixing unfortunately. There is a task to host a speech but not to listen to one and for lectures it's the opposite you can only set listen, not give a lecture. Sims also start to cook when you want them to eat. I hope things like this can get fixed in the next weeks.

I thought I would hate imaginary friends but I am surprised to find out I actually like them. It's a shame they don't get some kind of special trait when they are turned real as a reminder of their origin. But aside from that I like them.
