Any tips on doing Strangerville with 2 Sims?

I've started playing around with Strangerville, mostly for a SimLit story. I want to run two characters through the storyline at the same time but I'm running into the obvious issue that it's clearly intended for only one Sim to work on the mystery.

I wondered if anyone had done Strangerville with 2 and if you have any tips on how best to handle it?

Thanks

  • As best I can recall from the times I've done it with two playable sims, there's only a couple of points that every sim actually has to trigger.  Everything else you can have one sim trigger it, and the other sim along for the ride.  Technically, you don't need the aspiration to do the Strangerville mystery at all, but I find it helps for certain stages at least.
You will need to pick a "lead" between your two sims at some point, to have as your focal sim during the last scene, but otherwise it's just a matter of doubling up on some activities, only a couple of which end up slightly immersion breaking to have to do them multiple times.

OK, that's promising. I'll keep going and see how it goes. Thanks!

  • When I did it I had my lead character complete the aspirations and tasks normally.  My secondary character cheated the aspirations complete after the main character finished it. The secondary character was selected as one of the three recruits for the grand finale.

I'm glad to hear it's possible to select the secondary character as one of the three recruits. Can they be selected as a recruit if they are part of the same household as the main character, or would I have to move them out of the household?

  • I took the Bridge crew from Star Trek, the Original Series plus my O/C Brianna Cantrell through the scenario. Being a junior Lieutenant, and rather green, since this was her first Landing Party experience, I let her take the lead, for the most part. Of course, Kirk, McCoy and Spock were on hand to help bail her out. Just know you're going to need a team near the end of things. So, make friends along the way, so you can easily recruit them.

Best of luck! It's fun but can be a tad intense.

  • This is good to know,  haven't played the Strangerville story yet myself.

I plan to use more than one Sim to get through it, but I do plan to make Sims of the characters from Scooby to go through it in one of my saves, which would include four Sims.
