Are some sims "protected" from death by default?

I also noticed father winter(s) never die as well. Clement Frost auto-retires at some point, game generates a new father winter but Clement is alive forever. This is weird though, it's like if I play the same save for too many generations, eventually I will have tons of retired ex father winters around.
There's also this old sim in San Myshuno, Cesar Odom, he's immortal too. I don't know what his deal is though.

Anyways, what's this nuclear option? I didn't get what you mean.

So, to me it looks like that particular sim, has some kind of buff or trait that prevents her from dying. Now, how can I find it, and how can I remove it so she can die like any other sim.

The term "nuclear option" is a euphemism for an extreme method used to achieve the desired result. In this case, said nuclear option was what I described. One of the vampire skills allows the sim to influence the emotions of others. Maximized, the results are pronounced. In this case, I used the ability Burst of Anger, which at level 3 gives every sim in the room a +50 anger moodlet for four hours. This results in a large number of sims experiencing the caridac explosion death event. While it is often a surefire way to kill a targeted sim, it results in large amounts of collateral damage. Hence the term.

I wouldn't mind her being around as a perpetual teenager if she actually had a reason to be immortal.

I suppose one could give her bizarre fruit and simply assume she frequently visits the mother plant to request youth.
