Bella's Disappearance Theory
I was watching this video by Plumbella on this theory about Bella's abduction and at a point they imply that Michael was in the science career.

1) Michael Bachelor was never intended to be a scientist. In Sims 2 he has high fitness level, while in SIms 3 he had the athletic trait. Before Dina married him, she had the trait to marry a rich sim. He was probably a famous sportist. There's no evidence in any sims game that he had science/logic traits.
2) Sims 2 clones can't be accessed in regular game, so they aren't clues to the mystery and were probably a mistake. Also, in Sims 2 when a sim gets cloned the outcome has opposite gender and in Sims 3 we have clones with the same gender, but its way in the future in Oasis Landing. Between Sims 2 and Oasis Landing someone probably figured it out how to fix that issue, but not when Michael and Skip were cloned.
3) If you return Bella to Pleasantview tries to rebuild her relationship with Mortimer, and it doesn't work... its because the chemistry system wasn't released with the base game. This feature was added later with an Expansion Pack and by that time the devs probably couldn't edit older premade sims to fit the new system. And, in Sims 2 console Bella seems extremely worried to return to her kids and her husband, because she loves all of them (or does she?!).
4) Lunar Lakes description implies that "survivors" (probably kidnap survivors?) got stranded in a new world after their spaceship was disabled. I think that means the technology wasn't their. They probably escaped Sixam on said spaceship and wouldn't know how to re-enabled it as they didn't recognize the technology. The Bella from Lunar Lakes died of old age, maybe the crystals aged her more quickly, but I believe that she had a "normal" life in that planet before dying. But, following Lunar Lakes storyline, she would've never returned like in the Sims 2 console and you have to ignore the consoles (I love most console premade sims, but I'm ok with it... I hated that Nervous Subject was in a straight relationship and died in that game).
5) I like the idea that maybe Bella Goth had an affair with Skip Broke, and thats would explain why Brandi Broke would've killed him and how she would be involved in the rest of the neighborhoods drama. She's also acquaintances with both Dina and Nina. Maybe the twins weren't so bad and needed a good reason to get rid of Bella without feeling guilty.
