Birth Certificates?

My sim just gave birth at the hospital, I joined, she gave birth to twins and I got two birth certificates. I always go to hospital, so I don't know about home births, but I've always gotten a birth certificate.

I hadn't tried the debug mode or any cheat yet... But I'd love for a mod or something that generates birth certificates.... even though I'm sure that sounds like a wasted mod to Do. But i'd love for all my playable sims to be able to be given a birth certificate as long as they know who the parents are.

If I remember correctly, giving birth at home or sending the sim alone to the hospital were base game features. That's why you don't get a certificate if you chose those options. But actually joining the pregnant sim at the hospital came with Get to Work and that is the only way to get the certificate. Birth certificates were introduced with Get to Work.

Interesting... I had no idea this existed. This would've been perfect for my current legacy.

I'm usually too lazy to send my sims to the hospital anyway :x

I "magically" got a birth certificate when my sim came home from the hospital. I've had at-home births that didn't get me a certificate, so it's probably a hospital thing.

Do you think it would be possible for someone to mod it so that we could create birth certificates with all the detail? Yes you can use bb.showhiddenobjects for the birth certificate to show up but it doesn't show the details.

Ahh, this is something I can test out because according to the lesson it says all sim babies get a Birth certificate weather they were born at the hospital, I think it was originally part of the base game but got broken, but I will have to test it the next time my sim is pregnant. I was under the impression that your supposed to get a birth certificate when the baby is born weather you have it at home or hospital or follow the sim to the hospital. If the sim goes to the hospital to have the baby the birth certificate should be in your inventory when you get back home. If your sim has birth at home I the birth certificate should arrive in the mail.

Well no Sid - you only got Birth certificates with Get To work and both parents need to go to the hospital or you won't get one. It is even listed on the info for Get To works as a brand new feature that comes with the EP. So I have no idea where you got one before GET To Work. LOL. Although I hear C Lewis did make a CC one a while back.

I don't think both parents are needed, as I've sent sims with best friends instead or other family. I'll try it out again in my game to be sure, but I think the only requirement is joining your sim at the hospital instead of sending them to the rabbithole one. They don't have to bring anyone else.
