In my country(Argentina) it is known as, Foxtail. Pennisetum alopecuroides. It is used for decoration. In my house there was a vase with these branches for a long time. I always said that I would love if they put flames in the game. It's the Sims city logo! I'm surprised they haven't done it yet. It would be great to have a llama as a pet.

Pampas grass is very trendy nowadays for interior decoration and it would only make sense to include it, so I don't think it must be necessarily a hint.

I think it's fairies, because Caylee Hammack posted that she made a song in simlish for a new Sims pack and she ended her tweet with a fairy emoticon. It might mean nothing of course, but 'bond with nature' just seems to fit.
