I'm doing the legacy challenge. And I've struggled a little with relationships in Sims 4 (it took me a little over a sim week to get mine and hubby's simselves together and married and pregnant - and that's living together). Well, now in my legacy challenge my sim met a guy and has been building the green relationship bar. We're about half way so I thought I'd do some romantic interactions... only to find out he's married already!So, my question... can you split up relationships and marriages in Sims 4 like you could in Sims 3? Is it the same way "Ask to break up"? I do not want to lose all the time I've invested in this sim and have to start over.

I can't answer this myself because I've been waiting all day for the game to arrive (!!!!!!), but have you tried rotating to that household and manually splitting them up? From what I hear you can do this quite easily in TS4 and you won't lose anything in your current household. Unless of course he's a townie, then I don't know what to do :neutral_face:

You just need to ask the sim to become your girlfriend/boyfriend first then under the romance options you should get Convince to leave Spouse =).

yeah there's a Divorce option under the MEan social listing.And it took a week? Took my guy 3 sims days to meet a random townie, smooze her, woo her and marry her.Next day asperations wanted me to try for baby ;)

Awesome! Thanks, both of you. @Shalimar - I know! It's crazy. Most others aren't struggling, but for some reason I am. I'll get it figured out soon enough *I hope*. ;)

If you look under romance and hit convince to split couple up then they can get married

You can also ask the person to leave his/her spouse if married -- you'll end up with a relationship fully in the red with the ditched spouse, but that's the price you pay for play.

My sim's love interest has been 'seeing someone else'. Will the option still pop-up, or will do I just have to manually break them up by moving him in?

Yes you need to get their romantic relationship higher and your sim will have an option to ask them to leave their partner.

Actually, asking other sim to break up can be done at any relationship level. It is located under Mean category under Other sims... and requires Get Together expansion pack. If player doesn't own The Sims 4 Get Together, it is still possible by asking the sim to move in and then having him/her break up with other sim.

If I were you I would go to manage worlds, select your future husband's household, and make him divorce his wife. Or, if he lives with you, just make him invite his wife over and divorce her.
