Broken Game and Bugs Years Later
I hope this gets passed on to the developers of The Sims 4.
The other day I decided after a three year break from TS4 I would reinstall my game and DLC. Note I raged quit back in 2017, and then tried again in 2018 and then gave up. This was a new pc (last year) that doesn't have the space for all the packs and patches etc. (Small SSD) But I felt ok, I want to play TS4 but I hope my old bugs have been fixed years later.
It took a whole Saturday afternoon to install TS4 and half the EPs, half the GPs, half the Stuff packs (I don't have any kits). I sat here thinking is this gonna be worth it to sit here all day?
Finally! it got installed, something should be done about Origin download helper Qtime thingy. It only slows down to a crawl and isn't helping anything.
I proceeded to load the game, I'm not impressed with the way things have changed on the loading screen. I actually like the old screen when Ryan and Graham were here. You know the white one with the glimpses of Sims and objects etc.
Everyone should know by now, I loved Dine Out. I didn't mind we couldn't run our own restaurant the way we did in TS2. Because my Sims helped the waiters clean up and went and talked with customers in that little list of things to ask etc. which made my Sim owner very busy and I didn't need my Sim to cook etc. That was back then when DO was new.
However, in a vanilla game, with only half the EPs, GPs, and stuff packs ( I think I stopped at Parenthood) DO is broken. I can only assume no it's not one of the later packs that broke DO but one of your patches in the past three years. :/
Sending a Sim (newly created, no saves no nothing, fresh game) to a restaurant was different. The cook stands outside and hours later when all orders are in decides to come in and start cooking. By that time two or three hours has passed and my Sim still hasn't gotten to order let alone eat.
This didn't happen in my game in 2017. One reason I raged quit back then was because the game wiped out my saves..three years of play. When the game changed the auto and save as features. I always saved as save as etc. and one day after that patch it wiped out every thing let alone all the bugs I was experiences in the packs I did like. Another reason was because the game wiped out all my hard work on Chefs and waiters etc. in Dine Out. After training them all and they did their jobs the way DO was intended to work the game, one day (after a patch) decided to wipe them from my game. I sent my Sim to one of her restaurants and they were all gone and replaced even though I had followed instructions here to put them all in a house (a work around to keep the game from culling NPCs) etc. That worked very well for a very long time but once again a patch wiped all that out. The point being I decide I will give my game another try because I did spend money on half the EPs back then, half the stuff packs, and half the GPs....but no, again DO has even more problems now. One being the chef and others stand outside the buildings waiting to go in, if ever, and the whole DO experience is ruined. Whether sending a Sim to dine out and or to play as the owner of the place.
Things like this may be very small to some but once things start to pile up and I will not even go into all the other things, I quit again. I may not like all Maxis ideas, I'm not expected to like them all. I'm an adult, I don't need every little thing Maxis sells. However, I expect my game to not constantly need a fix to fix a fix. And the bugs and mishaps and glitches and constant needing a patch for this or that to fix what another patch did is why I stopped buying as far back as Parenthood. I missed out on Seasons, Pets, Uni, Paranormal, Magic, etc. Because of your bugs...I can see bugs when others play. I won't spend money on broken packs. Nor spend money for you to have to patch my games over and over...
Maxis, I hope you understand why some of us are so determined to not buy from you again, until you start to address the problems you create.
