Cheating the lottery, not really...

Hey!

So the lottery winner is announced 10 am but if you save the game and quit say... at 9:55 am, every time you load the game a new winner is announced :D

I know... save scumming sucks... but I played this game for years! I dont cheat! I deserve to be a millionaire at least once... right?

Tho... it seems the result is completely random... and if there are a 100 sims or more in the world... I guess chances of winning the lottery this way are still very, very low.

  • Playing rotationally is a bit cheaty too, in this context: I have 170 sims that are relevant to my story in some way, and maybe fifty townies (subject to regular purges). The chances that one of my households wins would be quite nice, granted, it wouldn't neccesarily be one of my main families, but it wouldn't be a random strange either. Don't have Seasons, though, so no firsthand experiences.

I say go for it, if you really want to go through the hassle of reloading several times instead of typing the money cheat, then you have (kinda sorta low key) earned your result B)
  • Do families you aren’t playing with at the time of announcement have a chance of winning? Like you could play with family B, return to family A to discover they’ve won millions?
  • You could make every Sunday or even every day a lottery day and increase you chances. Some people do play the lottery regularly. :)
  • I have a big rotation and I've had one lottery winner that I was actively playing during that time. It was really fun and unexpected. I'd like them to add more unpredictability like that. Honestly, I'd probably just use motherlode if I specifically wanted to play a lottery winner.

My lottery winner went from the shipwreck to a luxury beachfront mansion that I suddenly needed to download when he suddenly had a million simoleons. Yes, it was great and the gallery was handy for that. I reviewed a bunch of beach houses and I'll admit that the one I downloaded was a difficult& impressive build for whoever made it.

Anyway there are other ways that you can simulate a lottery. In a rotation, you could number your households, determine an amount to win or randomly select an amount and use a random number generator to determine the outcome.
  • Well... I loaded it about 20 times and I had no luck. I guess my sims will never win the lottery after all.
  • My homeless woohoo worker won the lottery. I might continue her story in a riches-to-rags challenge.

It’s not one of the holidays we can create so you must mean with a cheat or mod?
  • I had the same family (my active household) win a million simoleons twice in a row. After that, I permanently cancelled the lottery because the odds seemed too much in my favor even though I have between 500 and 1000 sims in my game. I was really shocked to have it happen once, but twice :o My sims obviously figured out how to cheat the system behind my back ...
  • When the lottery comes around I go into all my households and have them get tickets. Usually a decent chance one of them will win. One of them won when I was playing yesterday.

Wow twice? I never a sim win the lottery all this time and its been years seasons was released.

Maybe you should buy a real lottery ticket... maybe send me a million or two for giving you this idea? :D
