Huh. I have all of those cheats enabled, but build/buy is still grayed out.
I even just double-checked. Free build is enabled. I've even re-started the game.

"bb.enablefreebuild" is the cheat and it should work fine. Works fine for me. Do you have mod that keeps those enabled? Maybe it needs updated.

Hmmm...are you making sure to finish term papers and presentations on time? You also have to study for the classes at least a little I found.

Yes, done all that you've mentioned. I failed the class

The food system in dorms seems very strange. There's the cafeteria in the commons lot which is fine, but it closes quite early. Then there's a stall nearby in the same lot, which is also accessible from the dorms lot, but that also closes early. All this makes it quite awkward to get food in a way that seems half realistic.

You can order pizza which works fine, but it's not realistic to do every evening.

That leaves the random lavish gourmet meals that roommates sometimes conjure from what seems like somewhere in the shower and bathroom in the dorm. It's all very confusing.

I missed it initially because I was looking for an actual cafeteria looking room.
The "cafeteria" from what I've found is literally just a buffet-style "steam table" thing and I had no idea what it was until I clicked on it.

My "go to class" option never appears during class time. For example my 9:30am class became available to attend at 11pm.

Well clearly you have a bug or you aren't turning in all required work. Are you sure your sim physically took his presentation to each class he needs it for? It isn't enough to just do the presentation because you have to also have him go take it to class and present it. Also, homework is due every single class for every single day you have it. You also have to separately turn the final draft of term paper in.

I passed during the 3rd attempt. It was the only class I took. The first two days, I completed all homework, studied, went to class, and it actually said I did well after school ended for those days. But, then when I went to ask the professor how I was doing, they said that I was on the verge of failing!! I studied, studied, and studied some more and brought my skill level up. That did the trick and I passed with an A-. I guess since it was an advanced class, my sim needed the HIGHEST level of skill.
