So I have a sweet little family of 4. Grandma, 2 parents and a child. All the adults gain a close knit lifestyle. Baby number 2 comes along and Bam, ugly moodlets all over that house because they now have more than 3 friends, but 100% of their friends are family members. I had a bigger family that everyone started getting the people person lifestyle. Siblings moved out and bam, ugly moodlets everywhere.If I like to stay a home with my family - I am probably not a people person, and if my only friends are my family - no matter how big that family is it shouldn't mean I am not close knit because I actually like my family members. Game needs to be able to differentiate between friends and family.

The amount needed for people person is unbelievable low. Your sim kept the friends they made for that one childhood aspiration? Too bad! It’s things like this that really make you wonder how much they workshop ideas because this seems like something they should’ve realized would be a nightmare in the planning stage! It’s like allowing toddlers to have negative sentiments even though toddlers are the most fickle beings in existence.

Overall, I'm really disappointed with Lifestyles. Everyone in my family gained the People Person one in less than 10 Simdays...

I think I posted this before, but my here it goes again: In the one save where I play with lifestyles a Loner sim developed the People Person lifestyle from being friends with his husband, the baby in the crib, his cousin's dog, a vendor in Selvadorada and his deceased father. Since he's a Loner, this is probably his subjective idea of being a people person ("I talk to that vendor EVERY YEAR! I'm sooo social!"), but objectively this should count as a close knit lifestyle.There needs to be a bigger middle ground between close knit and people person, with most sims falling into this grey area and only a rare few becoming people persons or close knits.

Agree! Just because you live in a big family doesn't make you a people person, especially if you have zero non-family friends and only leave your house to work....

I would even take no including family or pets or dead people when calculating close knit or people person. and there should for sure be some never gonna happen barriers like in the event of a loner or other trait that runs polar opposite to the lifestyle.

Yes this need to be updated! And only Sims (not pets!) OUTSIDE the family should count as "Friends".

If I like to stay a home with my family - I am probably not a people person, and if my only friends are my family - no matter how big that family is it shouldn't mean I am not close knit because I actually like my family members. Game needs to be able to differentiate between friends and family.

Fact of the matter is a family can be close-knit, even if it's a large family.

The tuning is a mess for lifestyles. I shouldn’t have a tense newlywed Sim, because she wanted to focus on her studies in Uni, therefore developed a single and loving it lifestyle. Also, my Sims child shouldn’t be holding a grudge against her mom, because she didn’t like the flower given to her as part of a holiday tradition. These types of features they add always seem to but implemented sloppily, then we either have to mod them or they end up nerfed.. a middle ground would be nice for once :|

I like lifestyles, but people person & close knit need a fix incredibly bad! Like @Sharonia mentioned people person is a huge problem for rotational players. The game may have given my sim ten new friends while I was playing other households. Those friends are unwanted in the first place, but now I also get punished for them. That is at least as bad as family members counting towards it.

I've been thinking what they could do to easily fix it. Maybe up the number of required friends to 10 for people person? Close knit could still be 3, but there would be an area in between where sims would gain no lifestyle. I really think there should be a neutral area.
