I have read how some are finding the newborns we have now look different that they used to, and not for the better. I'm not really seeing too much of a difference. So, I did a search through my imjur account. Man, I've got so many pages full of pictures! Took me a bit to find one of a newborn, as a result.(Removed due to mod. They did change the appearance of newborns as this life stage now reflects "fresh out of hospital" babies. Plus their voices have also been changed. And you can change their clothing without having to knit them.I don't have pictures to compare these however unfortunately...

I can see how some may think they're ugly, but for me the main thing is that they look more like actual newborns and less like dolls or something. They also seem more expressive but I may be imagining that. The skin tones have also been improved so that they have a better range. And to be fair, babies don't tend to look great right after birth for obvious reasons so I don't necessarily mind the newborns being kinda ugly.

Oh dear. They do look like little drunk old men now. Not gonna lie, I liked them better the other way. Where are their eyes?I don't know why they needed to try to go the "realistic" route, the Sims 4 art style has always been a little more cartoony. Oh well.

It currently uses the old EA infant mesh with a custom skintone. The first picture looks like it might have used the EA skintone back then.

Yeah, I thought about that after the fact. I will go through my imjur account and look for images of the twins, who were born at home without the Childbirth Mod. My bad. But honestly, in my game with or without the mod I haven't noticed much of a change. I do enjoy the way they cry, as it isn't as grating as it used to be. Anybody who's had a baby knows that a newborn's squalls aren't that hefty in the beginning. Also, the fact that their eyes aren't huge round beakons isn't unusual. At least in the case of my three children.

Yeah, that is really how most newborns appear. Sir Paul McCartney's Dad said of him at birth that he "looked like a red piece of meat." :open_mouth:

I used to have a skin overlay for newborns and while I do appreciate that newborns have the proper skin tone and eye color now, this one was arguably cuter lol

The way she's holding him and how he looks like he's quite disconcerted with it made me snicker. That overlay in the comment below, though, I honestly found a bit unnerving because it looks more like a doll with painted blush than an actual baby, but that's just me.
