- I'm on vacation Right Now. Since I couldn't find any info, and there isn't an option to hire someone to look after the animals... I decided to put all of them in my inventory- assuming they would be in a stasis of sorts. Nope! The Chickens and Llama seem ok, but the Cow is getting Dirty and Unhappy. I got a notification about it saying I needed to let her out. *facepalm* This is Day 1 of a 4 day Vaca.
We have Gardeners and Nannies, why do we not have Farm hands or Pet sitters? Have Cottage Living functions been added to Butlers? (didn't think about Butlers till just now) Would really love a solution to this. - AncientMuse2Seasoned RookieBeing able to hire a farmhand is a great idea and a really good solution for sims who need an extra helping hand, or want to take a vacation, or whatever.
- Update: I have answers about what happens to the animals... They leave. Vanished straight out of the inventory and left their clothes behind
There were a couple notifications asking to let them out of the inventory, then 2 warnings saying that they weren't happy (the same one you see at home when they need stuff), then the cow ran off.
For reference: They left for vacation between 8-9pm Friday, and it's Monday 3:21 am.
I'm cutting this trip short so as not to loose any more animals.. :/ but this does not bode well for anyone whose playthroughs involve long weekends, honeymoons, babymoons, graduation trips, etc. - I went on vacation for 4 days and left the animals at home. Came home and the cow was filthy and hungry but I didn't get any notifications about the cow being unhappy and wanting to leave.
- wow. I was too scared to just leave them all home, which is why I brought them.
- SimmervilleSeasoned AceOne thing I love about a new pack release is to read about simmers learn from trying. I would probably have skipped the vacation totally, so you were clever taking the animals with you. Now I wonder if we could create a vacation home specially aimed towards farmers, with room to bring their animals :) But then, it would probably not be much like a vacation after all, LOL.
Hm... did anyone test what happens to animas left at home after say 5 days, or after 10? Maybe they will always survive, just be dirty and hungry when we return? We could always pretend that someone is looking after them, but then I'd like them to be at least just slightly dirty. - I've run into this as well. I also tried to hire a gardener to care for my plants while on vacation, and rather than caring for the plants at my Sim's residence, the gardener showed up at the vacation rental. With vacations being a fully integrate part of the game and necessary for Aspirations, I think this concept could use some work.
- My sim is currently living alone on her farm and I was thinking I'd just move in a family member when she wants to go on vacation. For those who play rotationally do your sims take care of the animals when you're not playing them?

Last night I rotated back to a household which has a llama and chickens. The shed and coup were both in a clean state, the food level was still full in the shed, the animals were all clean and happy. "elanorbreton;c-17966765" wrote:

Thank you! Time to plan a vacation.
