I just had this picture in my mind of a real life couple and the person being proposed to was absolutely busting to go and they have to smile sweetly, made me chuckle.

The relationship bars aren't equal between two sims, This is most obvious if you play rotationally. I have had sims with a nice long bar and when switching to the other sim, the bar is much shorter.

I don't doubt it. When you switch households, perhaps there is something going on behind the scenes to make it look as if something has changed? Story Progression, perhaps?

However, I have noted time and time again, that when I use a mod to change the relationship of one Sim in a household, the other Sims' relationship is automatically identical. Not once have I seen a Sim that, for example, is in love with another and the other Sim doesn't feel the same way.

If there are unrequited feelings in your game, I envy you. :) I would enjoy that feature very much.
