I've just started using roommates and seen a few flirt, I don't use any mods (just CC) but I was curious if they actually ever do more than flirt and autonomously woohoo on your lot?I've honestly never seen this happen with any sims not directly in my household and after a quick google search read that roommates can leave because they became pregnant (randomly?) but im not clear on the details there. I know the game didn't have a "story progression" when it was first released (aka nothing happens outside of your own household) but has this changed over the years? Do other households now have children by themselves without my involvment?So thats two questions lol, 1 can roommates woohoo autonomously?2. is there ANY form of story progression happening in the background now where other households have kids autonomously?

No household will have children on their own, whether you have played them or not. Unless you play them and leave a sim in a pregnant state, in which case the pregnancy will proceed whilst you are off playing someone else.

You will get options to select the desired outcome; which, fyi, usually results in the Sim being happy you agreed or telling you to go and screw yourself and they’re going to do it anyway. Also note on the second one, it will happen to elder females, as the game will just “place” the object baby* (not child) into the household after three sims days.

So basically for story progression of other households it still requires your input is what your saying? Do you notice if this effects all households or only nonplayed households? I know people used to say that if they left a household to play another one and come back to the old one only to find them change jobs ect - has anybody ever returned to a household to find they've had kids too?

Do you know if roommates woohoo? This is more an extension on the idea that roommates can form relationships without my sim being involved. For example I've seen them flirt together so if they woohoo that would imply they've made a strong relationship without me right?

Pregnancy is a different matter. Sim's can't autonomously Try for Baby in a vanilla game. If you have any kind of risky woohoo mod, or allow autonomous Try for Baby, then it could happen.

I suppose NPC roommates could get abducted by aliens too, and come back pregnant that way.

They’ve had six kids through the ‘try for baby’ option. The last two were actually conceived via the deciding to have a baby chance card where the mother of her eldest son rang him up and asked him whether she should have another child and when I clicked yes she had another set of twins.

That’s right, no babies by themselves yet. Only when i’ve clicked on try for baby.
